AARA HONEY BEE FARM
Honey bee rearing is one of the major component of Integrated Farming System, In this context, Farm Pro Agro established 150 honeybee colonies in the AARA Honey Bee Farm and are being maintained throughout the year.
Mrs.E.Kavitha, Founder, Farm Pro Agro encourage the farmers and rural women to involve in honey bee rearing activities for enhancing the crop yield by providing pollination support by honey bees and getting additional income of farmers, rural women and also conserving natural ecosystem.
Objectives of the AARA Honey Bee Farm
The Department of Agriculture and Horticulture from different districts i.e. Erode, Coimbatore, Thirupur, Krishnagiri, Salam, Namakkal, Ariyalur and Trichy in Tamilnadu organizes farmers training and exposure program under ATMA to Farm Pro Agro on regular basis for getting the knowledge and hands-on training on Honeybee Rearing Techniques.
Also, the Agriculture College Students and Agriculture Vocational Group Students are visiting and learnt about the Honeybee rearing techniques as part of their study.
During the Training & Exposure programme, the farmers and students are learnt about need and importance of honey bee rearing, different of types of bees and its role, safe handling of bees and bee boxes, feeding method, pest & disease management and role of honeybees in agriculture production through the classroom session. As part of the programme, method demonstration also conducted in the honeybee farm.

Thiru. Raja Gopal Sunkara, IAS., District Collector, Erode visited to our Honeybee farm and appreciated our interventions in honeybee rearing activities.
Dr.Shaik N. Meera, Director, ICAR ATARI, Zone-X, Hyderabad, Dr.P.P.Murugan, Director of Extension Education, TNAU, Coimbatore and Scientists from ICAR KVK, Erode visited our Honeybee farm and appreciated our honeybee promotion activities in farmers and rural women in Erode district.
